$4 Million in Research Funding Awarded for Alzheimer’s, Frontotemporal Degeneration & other Tauopathies Such as PSP

Kingston — Monday June 1st, 2020 — On March 4th, 2020, The Alzheimer’s Association in partnership with the Rainwater Charitable Foundation announced $4 Million in funding aimed at supporting new drug discovery approaches seeking to mitigate the impact of abnormal tau proteins.

Tau, a key player in Alzheimer’s and other taupathies such as PSP has been shown to hold the potential to slow and potentially prevent such illnesses.

Eight successful research candidates were awarded funding out of a pool of over 100 impressive applicants. The list of recipients and the original publication announcing the awards can be accessed using the link below.
